Sunrise/Sunset
Seaside, Florida is famous for its spectacular sunrises and sunsets, as well as its charming architecture. It is one of our favorite vacation spots. This year my family enjoyed the Thanksgiving holidays there, and we were fortunate that our rental cottage had a rooftop deck that had fabulous views of the city and Gulf of Mexico. We enjoyed watching the sunsets there. One morning I got up early and, after wrapping myself in my long wooly robe, went to the roof top to take photos of the sunrise. I was trying to decide which is more beautiful, sunrise or sunset.
The photos I took did not make my decision easier.
Here are some shots of sunrise, looking over the rooftops of Seaside:
Sunset photos, also taken from our roof top deck:
So which do you prefer, sunrise or sunset?

Aww, very pretty Deb. I prefer sunsets, only because I'm allergic to mornings. ;-) But your photos of both are stunning!
divine photos Deb, impossible to choose. What a perfect spot to have a holiday.
You have a cute blog, and I love your garden.
I just finished reading the story of Autumn...my heart is full of joy to hear that she is part of your family....
What gorgeous sunrises, and sunsets...simply stunning.

The sunrise and sunset pictures you took are all beautiful, but I have to say I really love the sunset with the sun setting over the water. So pretty!
Both are equally beautiful! In theory I like them equally but I am a night owl, although I really really wish I was a morning person.
Gorgeous photos Debs! As for the question, I have to sit on the fence on this one as I love both!
Breathtaking! The photos are fabulous, but I truly believe that I might need a holiday in Florida to see the sunrises and sunsets in the flesh before I make my final decision - and it is such a close call that I might need a very long holiday indeed.
Deb, awesome pictures. Nothing finer than to enjoy a cup of coffee watching the sunrise at the beach. Glad ya'll had a great time.....
How to choose, impossible, all beautiful ! Glad you all had a good holiday there.
I love the light at both times of day but I think sunset is just a little bit more beautful! What a lovely place for a vacation, hope you and your family had a wonderful thanks giving. Christina
Both gorgeous, why choose one!?
All these photographs are beautiful Deb. But I think the first two sunset photos are unbelievable.
Definitely sunset, because sunrise is too darned early!
They are both wonderful. I couldn't choose a favorite. Isn't it wonderful that we can see such beauty twice in one day!
I prefer sunsets mainly because I don't like to be up at sunrise. Without planning it, no matter what island we have gone to over the years we end up on the west side watching gorgeous sunsets. Such a relaxing way to end the day.
We try to get to Clearwater FLA every October for a short vacation and one of our daily thrills is to head down to the beach to catch the sunset. Sometimes we're still racing across the causeway as the sun sinks ever so fast into the waters of the Gulf. Darn! We lingered too long over Happy Hour drinks!! (again).
But you can take your cocktails up to the rooftop deck and never miss a sunset. Perfect arrangement! Great photos, Deb - glad you had a lovely Thanksgiving.
So beautiful!! I think sunsets are usually more beautiful, but I like sunrises better. In the early morning, the air smells so clean and fresh! What a lovely place to spend Thanksgiving.
Your photos are lovely and peaceful. Although I enjoy sunrises and sunsets quite equally, today I'll vote for sunrises. We too often neglect them as we're busily beginning our days. We have some spectacular sunrises here in northern Maine, sunsets, too. Oh no. Now I'm conflicted....
I like all your photos, but a beautiful sunrise is my favourite part of the day - it makes me feel like the day is full of possibilities.
Deborah we used to vacation near the Gulf as kids...I saw some gorgeous sunsets in AZ while visiting....I think I prefer the sunsets as they seem to last longer as long as I can observe them tree free and for the full 1-2 hours they can last...had one right before vacation as I was driving 2 hours west on the highway..it went on and on and changed...truly memorable.
