Goose On Water x 7 + 1

I recently was at nearby Aldridge Gardens to get some some photos of roses blooming with the lake in the background, but I was frustrated by lighting that was too bright. At last I gave up and walked down to the boathouse, forgetting about photography but wanting to enjoy a lovely view of the lake. The lighting from this angle was much better, and I soon had my camera back out as I observed a goose swimming across the lake. I was taken as much by the beauty of the water as I was by the goose. I call this series of photos "Goose on Water x 7 + 1." (or simple algebra for lake lovers!) Do you have a favorite?

Finally, here is one more photo I took near the boathouse. No goose, but I love the water colors!

A Walk Around Aldridge Lake

Walking around a beautiful lake is good for both the body and soul, and I am fortunate to live not far from Aldridge Gardens with its lake and walking trail. The gardens overlooking the lake are lovely, and a lot of people come to enjoy the serene views.

I always look forward to the rolling topography around the lake. Here are photos I took on a recent visit:

We saw a couple of guys fishing. The fish in this lake are big!

A nature walk is never complete without viewing the wildlife. These paused long enough to let me take their photos:

If you haven't already seen it, you may also enjoy my previous post, A Garden of the Heart, featuring the personal garden of Eddie Aldridge, the founder of Aldridge Gardens.

Have a great day!  Deborah
