Where in the world is this?

I would like to call this Spectacular Sunset Sunday. Because of my irregular working days and my inability to count on posting on any given day, I don't usually do memes. I'll probably never do another one, but I like the alliteration.

These photos were taken by my son Mark, in another time, another place. He is kind to allow me to post them on my blog. Can any of you guess where in the world they were taken? Hint: It is very far from Alabama. The Heavens declare the Glory of God.Day's end

Did you guess Australia? Mark took these shots in the Tangalooma region of Moreton's Island, southeast of Queensland, Australia when he visited there as a student ambassador in 2002. He stepped out of his hotel room just as this incredible sunset was occurring and just as the kayaker was coming in toward the beach. These are about my favorite sunset photos of all time, and I am happy to share them with you.

Mark took some beautiful photos! I think I will move to Australia....:)

Sigh. I'd love to visit Australia. One of these days, maybe. Meanwhile, I content myself with reading blogs from that sunny, warm place. Nice photos, Debbie!

I guessed Alaska. At least I got the "a" right! Both photos are absolutely beautiful. Thanks for sharing. And if you ever do a sunset meme, I'd love to join in! :-)

Deborah,
I had guessed the Caribbean somewhere . What a stunning sunset. I kept looking for a shark fin following the kayak which would explain the big swirl and why he is paddling so hard. Your son has inherited some of your photographic talent. Beautiful !

Deb~~ Your son is exceedingly talented. The photos are fabulous and all the better because they were taken by your pride and joy. I was going to guess Puget Sound. Thank you for sharing and please give oodles of kudos to your son from your blogging buddies!

Those pictures are so beautiful that it hurts lol. I want to go to Australia so badly one day. So many of my friends have gone, and in fact one of them is visiting there right now for 2 weeks. I think I'd need a whole month or two lol.

Deborah so gorgeous! When my mum was seven, the UK was paying peoples to leave the country after WW2. They had the choice of Canada, US or Australia. My grandparents picked Canada, but my grandfather always regretted that they had not gone to Australia. He said it was the most beautiful country in the world, and with sunsets like that you wouldn't agree.

Magic sunset! I haven't even been to Moreton island and I live in Australia :) I have been through that area though and Queensland is a beautiful state.
It looks like you are doing an excellent job for our tourism industry Deborah!

Please tell your son that these are fabulous sunsets. I totally agree with the caption below each of your pictures - I could not have chosen any better to describe them. Thankyou so much for sharing. I would love a little bit of that heat from that sun just now!
